ANOTHER XPELAIR ENERGY-SAVING INITIATIVE

5 Jan 2007
News
Now available from Xpelair in response to the growing need for energy efficiency is the Xvent - a central extract system for multi-point extraction applications, and an alternative to heat recovery ventilation. And for new build Xvent has been added SAP appendix Q allowing designers to over write MEV default values to improve SAP ratings.

Xvent is ideally suited to high density buildings such as apartment blocks and commercial premises where, commonly, there is only one external wall which means that ductwork is needed to reach some parts of the building’s interior. An example would be public washroom facilities where multiple cubicles need to be served by a single fan. Featuring just one ventilation outlet is the preferred option by architects as it means less building work, and ultimately, minimal noise break-out.

Xvent is quiet in operation and is a high pressure, speed controllable system designed for continuous 24hour running, which in wet room locations, minimises the migration of high humidity to other rooms.

Xvent is available in AC and Ultra Longlife DC motors and has been found to be an efficient alternative to heat recovery ventilation in houses and flats.

The UK’s homes are the largest single source of CO² pollution, and with four million new houses planned for development over the next 20 years, lowering energy consumption by 20% over a 10 year period is now a government initiative

When used in conjunction with Xflex flexible ducting, Profile 29 flat ducting and RegulAir ventilation terminals, the system can be concealed above ceilings and in stud walls. All units are speed controlled by a three speed hard wired switch.

There are four models within the Xvent range. For more information or details of Xpelair’s design service, call the company on 08709 000540, alternatively visit www.xpelair.co.uk.
