Exhibition underlines growing popularity of Promat PROMAFOUR® fireplace insulation system

This year’s Hearth and Home exhibition in Harrogate marked one year since the launch of the Promat PROMAFOUR® fireplace insulation system, and underlined the rapidly growing popularity which the system is now enjoying.

“We were quite overwhelmed by the amount of interest from visitors to our stand,” says Dan Gregory, Business Development Manager for Technical Insulation. “The system offers an ideal solution for the construction of chimney breasts for cassette and inset type fireplaces, and we had a constant flow of high-quality enquiries.

“Those seeing the system for the first time were impressed by the fact that PROMAFOUR®  can resist continuous high temperatures of up to 1000oC, while those already familiar with it welcomed the news that we now have a comprehensive  distribution network that covers the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands.”

The system includes the calcium silicate and cement-based fire protection and insulation boards, plus joint filler, glue, fixing studs and primer. These can be combined to create casings against brick or timber walls, and even around free-standing stoves, making the system ideal for both new-build and refurbishment projects.

“Visitors to the stand seemed to appreciate the many benefits it offers, such as minimal expansion and contraction, both during and after heating, which dramatically reduces any risk of cracking,” adds Dan. “The fact that the system’s high thermal storage capacity helps distribute the heat evenly throughout a room also seemed to be a key point for many people.

“We were keen to get across the message that the system can help installers create fireplaces which comply with current legislation. Promat can also provide support to merchants and installers who are using PROMAFOUR® , and this puts us firmly out in front in this market.

“Given the fact that it also has a naturally smooth surface which can be easily decorated, and does not require plastering, it’s easy to see why Promat PROMAFOUR® is attracting so much attention.”
