When landscape designer, Pegasus Group, was seeking suitable hard landscaping products for the redevelopment of Moy’s End at the ABAX Stadium, Peterborough United Football Club’s home grounds, Tobermore provided Textured Flags as an attractive and practical solution.
The ABAX Stadium was originally built in 1913 and is famously owned by The Posh who have been looking after it since 1939. The purpose of the refurbishment was to develop Moy’s End, the terraced end of the football grounds, to accommodate seating for fans, rather than a standing area.
Pegasus Group liaised with Tobermore to source a suitable hard landscaping product for Moy’s End, and Textured Flags in the subtle colour of Natural proved to be the preferred choice.
Textured Flags are manufactured with a unique granular surface that creates a beautiful, natural appearance. As with all Tobermore products, Textured Flags are extremely hard-wearing and the best iron oxide pigments available are sourced to produce the beautiful product colours, ensuring that the product can stand the test of time.
Kier Construction was appointed to carry out the works which have successfully met the objectives that were set out for the project.
The stadium held a seated capacity of 15,314 prior to refurbishment and it now holds a total of 20,000 seats. Moy's End at the ABEX Stadium has been renamed as the ‘Motorpoint Stand,’ marking a new era for Peterborough United and the clubs fans.
