With domestic buildings contributing 30% of UK CO² emissions, advances in domestic energy efficiency are much sough after. Xpelair has therefore invested in the latest ‘Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery’ technology as part of its CarbonLite range. The Xcell 270 recovers otherwise wasted heat energy from domestic properties, while utilising the latest UltraDC technology for less energy use in operation and up to a five-fold increase in lifetime.
The Xpelair Xcell 270 whole house heat recovery unit is designed for larger dwellings, both new build and retro-fit, and is the flag-ship unit in the Xpelair Xcell range of whole house mechanical ventilation units with heat recovery systems (MVHR). Xpelair have been successful in listing the unit on the SAP Appendix Q accredited register, for products which can demonstrate reductions in carbon emissions as calculated for Part L of the building regulations, as well as being recognised by the Energy Saving Trust as best practice.
The Xcell 270 features the latest generation of counterflow heat recovery cells. Dependent on volume setting, the high efficiency heat recovery cell provides up to 95% efficiency, whilst the multispeed double inlet fans offer whisper quiet performance. A choice of 3 from 12 speeds would be selected at installation based on the necessary volume/duty of the dwelling in accordance with Building Regulations Part F. A remote 3 speed selector switch is also provided with the unit.
Commenting for Xpelair, Richard Scott said “The Xcell 270 protects the environment in a number of ways; it reduces heating costs by recovering otherwise wasted heat and has great sustainability credentials through it’s use of UltraDC long life, low energy motor technology, offering up to five times longer lifetime use of the product – which is why added it to our new CarbonLite range” In operation the Xcell 270 helps maintain a fresher home with lower levels of humidity and has been proven to show health benefits for allergy sufferers.
The Xcell 270 comes in an insulated steel powder coated cabinet featuring high density foam insulated lining/scroll with built-in double sided condensate tray with choice of drain positions. It is suitable for installation in loft areas and features a wall hanging bracket.
