In 1867, Joseph Stannah began engineering lifts and cranes for London’s dockyards. For over 150 years Stannah has remained a resolutely independent British business.Five generations on, this family-owned business still uses its engineering expertise to keep people and goods moving.

We supply and install passenger lifts, platform lifts, goods lifts, service lifts, escalators, moving walkways and stairlifts, alongside providing maintenance and repair for all makes and models of lifts in the UK. Our lift services include removals, refurbishment and modernisation and new bespoke product installed to our client’s specification. At the heart of all this work is a strong but simple promise that defines our position within our industry: ‘always true to our word’. This reflects the way we go about business – with care, fairness and practicality – so that we can provide life-and work-enhancing products and services to our customers.

Our nationwide network of service branches delivers local lift services, for all types of lift products from all manufacturers, right across the UK.  We also manage large lift portfolios for some of the UK’s best-known brands, including over a thousand lifts for Network Rail.
