RV292 Secured By Design mailboxes are vertical format units manufactured from 2mm galvanised steel or stainless steel. Whilst most mailbox units are manufactured from 1.2mm steel, robust enough for normal everyday use, they don't normally tolerate sustained acts of malicous damage via hammer or screwdrivers.
Although no mailbox is infallible, the RV292 Secured By Design letterbox has nearly double the amount of material in its construction, making it a particularly robust letterbox and is a virtually theft proof mailbox. It also comes with a tough, secure cylinder lock, which is a 10 disc construction rather than the 5 disc system used by most mailbox manufacturers. As a measure of quality, there are 2,000 different key combinations.
As such, the RV292 is well suited for high risk external application where mailboxes may be prone to attempts of mail theft. Due to its vertical format, the RV292 is better suited to smaller banks of 18 or less units.
It has dimensions of 290mm width, 380mm height and a standard 200mm depth, and is a front-entry front-retrieval unit (in-front, out-front). Where applicable, it complies to Secured By Design requirements (clauses 21.19 and 24.6).
RV292 Secured By Design letterboxes are designed to built into a bank of mailboxes but are also suitable as an individual stand alone unit.
The RV292 is available in any RAL finish, many of which are stock. It is also available in any other (non-stock) RAL finish for which there is an additional charge. It is also available in brushed stainless steel.
Suitable for both internal and external use with a choice of different casings, surrounds and support legs, the RV292 has a very high security Eurolock cylinder and each unit comes complete with 2 keys.
It can also be fitted with an internal fire extinguisher. This is a much more economical solution to specifying a bank of fire rated letterboxes.
