This November, Kingspan Facades provides an insight into the changing face of our built environment with a public exhibition of the latest through-wall facade technologies.
Open 6 - 28 Nov 2019.
Building facades are at the centre of a revolution in construction. Modern systems must afford architects the freedom to achieve ambitious visions on a diverse range of new and existing buildings, using the latest on and offsite approaches to streamline installation processes whilst facilitating both accuracy and high-quality workmanship. Above all, they must lead the way in the move towards a healthier, zero carbon-built environment.
From the 6 November, visitors to the Platform are invited to explore advanced new through-wall facade systems through large-scale sample constructions supported with a comprehensive colour chart area. Through an interactive digital programme, guests will be able to identify systems and individual components which can meet their specific project requirements.
There will also be opportunities to take part in helpful drop-in support clinics, hosted by Kingspan Facades’ technical staff, where visitors can discuss any queries and find out about the multitude of performance applications, building types and architectural styles which can be delivered through modern offsite facade systems.
The exhibition is part of a month-long programme curated by Kingspan Facades at the Building Centre, which includes interactive sessions, CPD talks and panel discussions with leading industry experts examining the key issues in facade design and delivery today. This includes everything from fire performance and installation quality, to colour and material options and the pathway to a zero-carbon future.
Event programme:
6 Nov, Accelerating the pathway to Net Zero Carbon Buildings
From the global climate strikes to the UK’s pledge to net-zero emissions by 2050, never has sustainability been such a prominent and vital topic in our industry. This panel discussion investigates this complex issue with some of the leading minds in the industry.
Panelists include:
- Mark Taylor, Director at Allies and Morrison

This interactive workshop will see teams work together and explore the discrepancies that can occur between design intent, procurement and installation by creating a mock project and following it through from 0 to 7 on the RIBA Plan of Work. Tickets here
20 Nov, Colour Workshop
Run in association with global coating provider Axalta, we are hosting a Colour and Materials workshop to provide detailed advice on aesthetic effects, weatherability and material characteristics – with colour swatches and samples available to take away. Tickets here
Every Thursday: Understanding Fire
This CPD focuses on the fire testing and real-life fire performance of external envelope systems, providing insights into:
- The various systems available
- The requirements they must meet
- The proven behaviours of insulated panels in real fire scenarios.
